WOW! This hit home.

We all have baggage. There is an enemy that "steals, kills and destroys" and he uses the messages and pain from our past to influence us to believe the lies. We play old out-of-date, recordings in our heads, messages which are no longer relevant and are often created by people who didn't know what they were talking about when they blabbed their mouth.

We believed these individuals because we were kids, or they were in a position of authority or a family member, which gave them credibility. We believe the wrong things which come from imperfect, wrong-intentioned humans, when the messages we SHOULD receive, accept and believe are from God. Those old wrong messages are monsters that feed our insecurities and chip away at our self esteem and put cracks in our confidence.

David Crank - Emotional Cancer - It'll Kill You.

Emotional Cancer will kill you before other cancers are even diagnosed.

My Dad, David Crank Sr, died at 56 years old of melanoma skin cancer that spread from his neck into tumors in his brain. During a period of operations, it metastasized.

 

In the months leading up to his diagnosis, Dad said He heard God’s booming voice saying, “CHANGE NOW!!!”, walk in love, forgive people, deal with this, David, you have to get to the root of the problem.



Dad didn’t die of cancer on the brain as much as cancer of the mind.

David Crank - In A Hurry? Be Still & Know That I Am God

Sometimes we are in a hurry to get things done, we think God is too slow, so we step in to help and we get in His way. We don’t have to rush and be in a hurry. Good things come to those who wait!

From God’s perspective, we have a whole lifetime to “do this thing”.

In God’s eyes “A day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day.  The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think”. (2 Peter 3:8-9) God is not bound by time like we are.

 

God looks at us and could easily say, “I was doing this before you got here and I’ll be doing this after you leave.”

Are you so busy that you’re barely acknowledging your kids? Are you missing the very zest of life?



God says be still and know that I am God! (Psalms 46:10)

How was he really saying it? In Psalms 46:10…

1.       BE STILL and know I’m God

 

2.       Be still and know HEY I’m God

 

3.       Be still and KNOW that I’m God

 

4.       Be Still and know that I’M God and YOU’RE NOT

We don’t know where the emphasis was in this scripture, but He could have meant it any of these ways.

We worry, what’s going to happen to the economy? What do we do? What do we know?

-          God says, I will never leave nor forsake you
-          God says, I will satisfy your needs
-          Be still and know that I am God
-          Patiently wait for the Lord, be brave and courageous
-          Occupy yourselves until I return

Sometimes the thing you hurry to do is the thing you want undone a short time later, such as a car purchase after that first car payment arrives?

 

It takes time to get into our mess and it takes time to get out of a mess.

The flesh is never satisfied. Proverbs 27:20, Ecclesiastes 1:8

If it is God today, it will be God tomorrow.

 

WAIT…

         Be Still…

                    And know…

                                   That I am God!

We say BUT!

God says, NO, Be Still.

Every person has a whisper from God. People respond to the God in you, the humility, not the bull-in-the-china-shop approach.

 

Everything in life becomes mundane. Stick with what you’ve got. Enjoy your kids. Stay motivated, but slow down. Don’t have those freakout moments.

God gets more glory when it looks impossible.

 

Enjoy and don’t rush out of what you have. Enjoy where you’re at right now. Have fun and make memories.

 

Enjoy right NOW.

Be Still and KNOW that I am God.

 

 

David Crank - Flesh is CUH-RAY-ZEE!

We try to succeed through behavior modification but can’t fight flesh with flesh.

Satan is the king of “IF”.

-          If you were really saved you wouldn’t have done that…

-          IF you were a christian you wouldn’t have thought that…

Your spirit got saved your flesh didn’t. The enemy wants you to doubt who you are. Even Jesus was tempted and he countered every temptation with God’s Word.

Just as Satan might promise you the world, the promises are empty because Jesus has already earned for you what is yours. Satan has nothing to offer but empty promises and lies.

I’m not under the “Do” plan,

I’m under the “Done” plan.

(Romans 6:14)

 

It’s not based on what you do, it’s based on what Jesus did FOR you.

Give no place to the devil.

 

If you let the enemy in the car, he’ll want to drive. You take authority over your own flesh and tell the devil to get away.

No one wakes up today and says today is the day that I’m going to destroy my life and lose my family. It starts with a whisper from the devil that it’s ok to look at porn or go be with that woman who makes you feel better about yourself than your wife.

God says you are a new man and the old man is buried, but the “old man” rises up and you have to keep pushing him back down in the casket. 

You can’t trust your flesh, it’s an enemy of the Lord.

There are seasons. You may sin and “have fun” for a season, but then you’ve created a habit and can’t seem to stop once the season has passed and you’ve decided you don’t want to live like that anymore.

Skin is skin, the flesh is never satisfied. The enemy will trip you up. 

 

Guys go out for White Castle when they have Filet Mignon at home!

You're clean because of what Jesus has done for you. it doesn't matter how you feel. Don't let the enemy tell you otherwise. The enemy tries to convince you that you’re already dirty and may as well go “do that thing” that you want to do. 


What the Son has set free is free indeed.

Don't give in to the lies of the enemy, but embrace the blessings Jesus has for you - in front of you - right now - today.

Feeling So Right and Being So Wrong - Pastor Sergio De La Mora

The Aztecs' religion was to sacrifice humans to make the sun god happy so that food would grow. People mostly were happy to die because they thought  they would go straight to heaven. It was how you died, not how you lived that determined whether you would go to the sun god or the dark and dismal underworld. And these people strongly believed in the afterlife.

They felt so right, but were so wrong.

It’s a paradox.

If you had one year to live, what would you do?

How would your life impact others?

Most of the time when we think about the future, we view it as, "How is this going to affect me?"

We aren't given the gift of life to ONLY enjoy it ourselves, but to impact others.

Bucket List

So how would you spend that year?

Some would start living out their bucket list.

When I started thinking about it, I thought, would I do all of the things I ever wanted to do?

Or would I go find people and help them live out the life THEY desire to live?

Mark Crow: Grace - Not Getting What You Deserve

I thank God that I don't get what I deserve. 

In the U.S. we are law-driven.

We will drive up to a stoplight in the middle of a city in the middle of the night with no traffic in sight and sit at a red light for 5 minutes until it turns green and then we go...

Doesn't that sound a little insane? With NO ONE in sight? Yet we do it.

The natural law finds it's way into the spiritual arena and we start doing things "just because".

Stop being a human doing and

start being a human BEING.

David Crank - Start CLIMBING!

Don't stay at the bottom just because all of your friends are there, when God wants you at the top.

When you get to the top, you can then help elevate them from the bottom.

You do that by elevating thinking. 

You'll never know what the view is from the top until you get there.

Don't be that person that needs a
fire(cracker) lit under them.
