Feeling So Right and Being So Wrong - Pastor Sergio De La Mora

The Aztecs' religion was to sacrifice humans to make the sun god happy so that food would grow. People mostly were happy to die because they thought  they would go straight to heaven. It was how you died, not how you lived that determined whether you would go to the sun god or the dark and dismal underworld. And these people strongly believed in the afterlife.

They felt so right, but were so wrong.

It’s a paradox.

How would your life impact others?

Most of the time when we think about the future, we view it as, "How is this going to affect me?"

We aren't given the gift of life to ONLY enjoy it ourselves, but to impact others.

Bucket List

So how would you spend that year?

Some would start living out their bucket list.

When I started thinking about it, I thought, would I do all of the things I ever wanted to do?

Or would I go find people and help them live out the life THEY desire to live?

In the U.S. we are law-driven.

We will drive up to a stoplight in the middle of a city in the middle of the night with no traffic in sight and sit at a red light for 5 minutes until it turns green and then we go...

Doesn't that sound a little insane? With NO ONE in sight? Yet we do it.

The natural law finds it's way into the spiritual arena and we start doing things "just because".

Stop being a human doing and

start being a human BEING.

When you get to the top, you can then help elevate them from the bottom.

You do that by elevating thinking.

God wants to direct his children so that we miss a lot of pain and suffering on this earth.

He is a God that really leads and really speaks to us.


He wants US to be led.

There is therefore now no condemnation (judging/guilt) to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to (the dictates of) the Spirit. Romans 8:1

 

God wants us to LEARN how to walk according to the dictates of the Spirit, not the dictates of the flesh.

God gave us the 5 physical senses because we live in a physical world and we need them to operate correctly and effectively in this world. (seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, tasting).

There is a physical world but also a real spirit world that we can’t see…

In the world of the Spirit, to operate successfully, we have to be led by the Spirit of God, because we can’t see in that world.

What we need is what Jesus portrayed...this loving God who is not here to point a finger at us but who is ready to identify with us.


Who needs to be told they are going to hell???

We all pretty much know that...



Some of us have even been told to go to hell… 

It's not about ACTING like a christian, if you have prayed to invite Jesus into your life, you ARE a christian.

God doesn't bless you because you're good. He blesses you because He's good.

To help you begin to comprehend what Jesus did for you:

• He paid $17 million dollars on your $1700 debt.

He so overpaid your debt that it MORE than accounted for your past, present and future sin... Your sin is minimal compared to what He paid for You.

What Jesus did on the cross

is so much bigger than any evil

that keeps you from God's love.
